Spread the love

Fujifilm has for its GFX 50S-digital system cameras released new firmware, with 3.00 as version number. These cameras have a medium-format CMOS image sensor of 51.4 megapixels on board and are suitable for lenses with a Fujifilm G mount. This update is approximately 51MB in size and can be loaded onto the camera via a memory card set. The brief list of changes looks like this:

Version 3.00

  • Addition of “Focus Bracketing” – The update will enable the photographer to shoot focus distance bracketing up to 999 frames. When the photographer starts shooting, the focal location is shifted with each activation of the shutter by the step of focus shift set from 1 to 10.
  • Addition of “35mm Format Mode” – The update will enable the photographer to shoot central 36.0mm x 24.0mm (30.5M) cropped images as both JPEG and RAW files. When using 35mm format adapters, it will be easier to adjust the image size to 35mm format image circle lenses by changing the setting.
  • “H MOUNT ADAPTER G” new firmware – The firmware update will expand the compatibility for the “H MOUNT ADAPTER G” accessory.

Version 2.00

  • Support “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” for Mac – Once connecting a camera to a computer via USB cable, the “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” enables users to convert RAW files with X Processor Pro. The fast batch processing will also be available. The “FUJIFILM X RAW STUDIO” can be downloaded from the FUJIFILM website for free.
  • Improve radio flash controller usability – The upgrade allows users to shoot with compatible third party studio flash in high speed sync. or TTL mode via their radio controllers.
  • Support for backup/restore of camera settings via “FUJIFILM X Acquire” – Once connecting a camera to a computer via USB cable, the “FUJIFILM X Acquire” allows users to backup/restore camera settings to/from a file. Copying all camera settings from one camera to another is available.
  • Addition of “Eye Sensor + LCD Image Display” in the View Mode – The update gives the “Eye Sensor + LCD Image Display” option in the View Mode that allows you to shoot through the viewfinder and check images on the LCD, just as you would with an SLR.
  • ON/OFF for 1/3-step shutter speed adjustment – The update allows you to turn off the Command Dial’s function to adjust shutter speed by 1/3 steps in order to prevent unintended adjustments.
  • Addition of “Shoot Without Card” mode – With the update, you can have the “Shoot Without Card” mode turned OFF so that the camera will not shoot when there is no SD card inserted.
  • Addition of “-6” and “-7” to EVF’s brightness setting – The update will extend the “EVF Brightness” setting options to “-6” and “-7” so that, even in an extremely low-light condition, the brightness of the EVF does not distract you from shooting.
  • Support for “Instax SHARE SP-3” – Additionally, “Instax SHERE SP-3” has become compatible with this camera.
