Firmware Update: Areca ARC-11xx / ARC-12xx 1.34

Areca just before the turn of the year, released two new firmware versions for its PCI-X and PCI Express Serial ATA RAID adapters. The first version is a stable release with version number 1.34 and build date October 26, 2004 and the second is a beta, which also bears version number 1.34 and was created on December 16, 2004. The firmware files for the specific 4, 8, 12 – and 16-port PCI-X or PCIe adapters can be downloaded from Areca’s ftp site. Unfortunately, it is unknown what changes have been made in the new firmware versions. Firmware updates must be performed via the web-based management server that is integrated in the controller and can be started from the operating system via Areca’s management tool.
