Eneco makes the subscription for its smart thermostat Toon twelve euros more expensive per year. In return, the energy company promises new features. For example, there will be a service to see which devices in the house consume the most power.

The price of the subscription goes from 42 euros to 54 euros per year, according to a page that Eneco has put online. Customers see this price on their annual invoice. The price increase will take effect on October 1, and until then, customers will still pay the current rate. The subscription is necessary to use Toon’s internet functions. Without a subscription, it continues to function as a thermostat, but without additional functions.

On a separate site, the energy supplier talks about functions that it wants to add. For example, Toon can show an interim position for the annual invoice, keep an eye on the CV and give a signal when it is time for maintenance. In addition, the energy supplier comes with a Waste Checker, which can display the power consumption of appliances.
