Dutch TV store PlatteTV changes name to HelloTV

Television seller PlatteTV will be known as HelloTV from Wednesday. Both the webshop and the eleven physical stores will be given the new name. With HelloTV, the seller wants to emphasize not only selling TVs, but also advising customers.

HelloTV says the rebranding is part of its growth ambition, with which the company wants to be ‘the Dutch authority in the field of TVs’ within three years. In addition, the TV seller wants to compete with bol.com, Coolblue and MediaMarkt, among others.

To better compete with this, the company wants to focus on ‘personal and specialist advice’. For example, the store talks about “real specialists” in online chats instead of chatbots and about additional stores in the country. For example, the twelfth store should open soon, in Duiven near Arnhem.

PlatteTV exists twenty years and says at that time to have sold nearly half a million TVs. The webshop is in the top 10 in the Pricewatch when it comes to the webshop with the most reviews in the past week. The store says all existing warranty and service terms remain in effect.
