Driver Update: Microsoft IntelliPoint 5.5

Microsoft released a new version yesterday posted online of IntelliPoint, the drivers intended for all Microsoft mice. IntelliPoint has arrived at version 5.5 and can be accessed by clicking this link downloaded as an installation file. This release of the drivers is not only suitable for Windows 2000 and Windows XP, but also for the 64bit versions of Windows XP. There also is a OEM version available from IntelliPoint 5.5, which contains all available drivers. What the exact changes are in version 5.5 is not known. IntelliPoint software enables you to customize the unique features of your Microsoft mouse to fit your needs. With IntelliPoint mouse software, you can reassign each mouse button—including the wheel button—to perform a command or keyboard shortcut, like Undo, Close, or an application-specific function. You can also modify mouse settings, such as pointer speed and updated horizontal scrolling. IntelliPoint 5.5 even offers biometrics support for advanced identity management. If you have a Bluetooth mouse or keyboard, you will need to have Windows XP with Service Pack 2 installed.[break]
