Manufacturer DJI has announced the Osmo Mobile 4. The gimbal has a magnetic holder instead of the clamp of the previous models. In addition, there is a new sensor to detect whether users are holding the gimbal up or down.

DJI no longer calls the gimbal Osmo Mobile, but says it will be called OM 4. The manufacturer supplies the gimbal with a circular magnet on the back of the phone and a magnet in a clamp that wraps around the phone. The OM 4 follows about a year after the release of its predecessor, which works with a clamping system.

The new gimbal has a sensor to detect whether users are holding the device up or down, making it easier to take shots from low positions. With the Osmo Mobile 3, users must press a button when lowering the gimbal to prevent it from tipping itself.

In addition, there are some new software functions for shots, such as a spin shot and a ‘dynamic zoom’ for a shot in which the user walks backwards and the software keeps the object the same size by zooming. The OM4 comes out immediately for 149 euros.
