Neill Blomkamp, the South African director of the films District9, Elysium and Chappie, is making a short film about the game Anthem. The video will be released on February 14, a good week before EA’s game hits stores.

The short film is called Conviction: An Anthem Story and takes place decades before the start of the game, according to EA. It is a so-called live-action film, with real actors. The video that will appear on YouTube on Thursday should give players a glimpse of the world ahead of the events in the game.

It is not the first time that Blomkamp has directed a short film about a game. Halo Landfall was released in 2012, a film of about seven minutes. A few years before that, he had already been nominated to direct a full Halo film, but production fell through.
