Dell reports a data breach. Intruders may have obtained names, email addresses, and password hashes. However, according to the computer maker, there is no conclusive evidence for this.

According to Dell, the leak was discovered on November 9 and immediately fixed. On another page about the incident, Dell says there is “no indication” that credit card information or other “sensitive customer data” was in the crosshairs of the intruders.

Users potentially affected by the vulnerability will face a company-mandated password reset. Dell makes no further statements about the degree of encryption of the passwords.

The American company also says that it has immediately launched an investigation. An external digital forensics agency has been called in for this. The authorities have also been informed of the incident.
