Creator Stalker Games Announces Cossacks 3

GSC Game World, best known for the Stalker games, has announced Cossacks 3. It is the first game in the rts series since 2005. The game will probably be released in the last quarter of this year.

The Ukrainian game studio has posted details about Cossacks 3 on its website. It also becomes clear what the makers have in mind. Cossacks 3 should be a remake of the first member of the series, which was released in 2001. GSC Game World promises that battles can be conducted with up to 10,000 units simultaneously. The rts also relies on familiar concepts of collecting resources and building settlements from a total of twelve peoples to choose from.

Cossacks 3 also has a multiplayer mode built in. It is possible to play with up to seven players at the same time, although AI players can also be added to the game. The whole takes place in a setting that is based on the 17th and 18th centuries. According to the makers, the landscape plays an important role in choosing attack tactics. Players can practice their tactics with a random map generator that should offer a wide variety.

Cossacks 3 is expected to be released in the last quarter of this year. An exact release date was not given. The development studio does want to say that there will be support for Windows, Linux and OS X. According to the makers, the game has been secretly working on the game for a year and a half. GSC Game World is best known for the Stalker games.
