Josef Fares from studio Hazelight, has announced a new game. The game will be titled It Takes Two and will be released in 2021. Like A Way Out and Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons, for which the studio has become famous, the new game revolves around co-op gameplay.

Creator Josef Fares calls the game a co-op action adventure platformer. In a video he gives some details about the game. It Takes Two is about a family, parents Cody and May want a divorce, but daughter Rose tries to prevent that. She does this by making clay dolls of her parents and with that she can influence the emotions of her parents.

According to Fares, the game will be a “crazy roller coaster” and players will be able to control the emotions of the parents in the game in a unique way. Fares and Hazelight became known for their games Brothers: A Tale of Two Sons from 2013 and A Way Out from 2018. Those games stood out because of the special way in which players have to work together while playing. The former game can be played single player, players control two characters. A Way Out only works with two players in co-op. It is not yet known whether this also applies to It Takes Two.
