Publisher Codemasters has announced that racing game F1 2010 will be released in September this year. The highly anticipated racing game, equipped with the right tracks, teams and drivers, will be released for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.

For the development of F1 2010 Codemasters has the license for the 2010 season. This means that the game will contain all the correct tracks, teams and drivers. This also applies to the new Korean International Circuit, where the first Korean Grand Prix will be held this year. Seven-time world champion Michael Schumacher will also make an appearance in the game. The German driver will return to Formula 1 this season with the Mercedes team. This team is a continuation of Brawn GP, which won both the 2009 Drivers’ and Constructors’ World Championships. All driver transfers, including the move of Fernando Alonso to Ferrari and the move from reigning world champion Jenson Button to McLaren, are also accurately reflected in the game.

F1 2010 is the first Formula 1 game for Xbox 360, and the first F1 game for PC in eight years. The game will offer players several familiar game modes, including Time Trial and Championship, as well as an expanded Career Mode. Codemasters has not revealed any further details about the build-up of this mode. In addition, F1 2010 will include an online multiplayer mode, although Codemasters has not yet announced any details about that either.

The Formula 1 game is being developed by Codemasters’ Birmingham studio. The game uses the EGO engine, also the driving force behind Colin McRae Dirt 2 and Race Driver: Grid. According to Codemasters, the engine has been further developed to realistically simulate aerodynamics at speeds above 320 kilometers per hour. The engine must also provide a realistic damage model. In addition, the game is provided with realistic, changing weather conditions. F1 2010 will be released in September for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC.
