Club 3D comes with two active DisplayPort 1.2 to HDMI 2.0 adapters, with support for resolutions up to 3840×2160 pixels at 60Hz. Such an adapter is particularly relevant for AMD video card owners who want to connect a 4k television.

The Club 3D adapter comes in two variants, a normal displayport 1.2 to hdmi 2.0 adapter and a mini displayport to hdmi 2.0 version. The cable supports HDCP 1.3 and 2.2, 24bit color depth and 4:4:4 color reproduction without compression. With an effective bandwidth of 17.28Gbit/s, 60fps at 4k resolutions is possible.

Since the introduction of AMD Crimson, the converter can be used not only with Nvidia graphics cards or Intel HD GPUs, but also with AMD Radeon cards. Since there are currently no AMD cards with an HDMI 2.0 connection available, using an adapter is the only method to connect a 4k television with an HDMI 2.0 port. Before the arrival of the new Crimson software, AMD did not support HDMI 2.0 and it was not possible to control such a screen with 60Hz. HDMI 1.4 offers up to 30Hz at the resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. Displayport 1.2 does support 60Hz in 4k, but there are hardly any TVs that have such a connection.

The adapters, part numbers CAC-1070 for the regular version and CAC-1170 for the mini-displayport version, should be available at the end of December for $35. Converted including VAT about 40 euros.
