Onda has made the first motherboard that can use both DDR4 and DDR5 memory. The board has an H610 chipset and one memory slot for each memory type. This means that the memory is limited to single channel.

The Onda H610+ motherboard is a simple Micro-ATX board that stands out because of the option to choose DDR4 or DDR5. According to the specifications, there is support for up to DDR4-3200 and DDR5-4800. The maximum memory size is 32GB. It is not possible to combine the memory types. What the Onda motherboard costs is unknown. Products of the Chinese brand are not for sale at European stores.

Other manufacturers have not released motherboards that support both DDR4 and DDR5. With the introduction of the LGA1700 socket and the corresponding Intel Alder Lake processors, most manufacturers released different versions of motherboards, supporting DDR4 or DDR5. It is not known whether other manufacturers also have plans for motherboards that support both memory types.

Motherboards that support two types of memory have become less common. In the transition from DDR3 to DDR4, ASRock released a number of Combo models. In the transition from DDR2 to DDR3, there were motherboards from ASUS, ASRock, Gigabyte, MSI and Sapphire with support for two memory types.
