CD Projekt RED has hired four Cyberpunk 2077 mod makers. These four modders will be working on the Cyberpunk 2077 back-end and should also improve the game’s mod support.

Modmaker Traderain is breaking the news in a Discord server for Cyberpunk mods. Twitter user also noticed Tyler McVicker on. The news was subsequently confirmed by a CD Projekt RED employee in the official Cyberpunk 2077 server on Discord. Besides Traderain, Blumster, Nightmarea and rfuzzo will also be working at CD Projekt RED. The four mod makers join the Polish game studio under the company of Traderain and Nightmarea, called Yigsoft.

For this, the four developers worked on Wolvenkit, a popular mod tool that allows users to modify and add game files to REDengine games, such as The Witcher 3 and Cyberpunk 2077. Wolvenkit remains open source, the makers report on Discord.

The mod makers will be working at CD Projekt RED on “various projects related to the Cyberpunk 2077 back-end and the game’s mod support.” CD Projekt RED has been publishing some “tools” since January to help users create Cyberpunk 2077 mods, including the game’s metadata. However, the studio does not yet offer official mod editors, such as Wolfkit. Maybe the modders will work on that.
