Battlefield V is getting a new chapter called Into the Jungle. As the name suggests, this chapter revolves around the jungle battles between the Americans and the Japanese that took place in the Pacific Ocean during World War II.

Into the Jungle will be the sixth chapter to be added to Battlefield V and will be available to everyone who owns the game on February 6. The main addition is a playing field that introduces the Solomon Islands, a major battleground in World War II, where, for example, the battle for Guadalcanal, the largest island of the archipelago, took place.

According to publisher Electronic Arts, the battle on the new map revolves around close-range combat, with dense forests, rivers, dark mangroves, swamps and hidden bunkers. It’s mainly about infantry combat, but land and sea vehicles also play a role. In addition to the well-known modes such as Conquest, Squad Conquest and Team Deathmatch, EA says that the new playing field is especially suitable for the Breakthrough mode, in which the Americans have to storm the beach from the sea and make their way through the jungle.

In addition, new weapons will become available, which must be unlocked first. These include the American bazooka for the Assault class and the lunge mine for the Japanese. This mine was in fact a suicide weapon aimed at tanks. An earlier test video shows that this weapon in Battlefield V is unlikely to be usable as a suicide weapon, with the player still alive after storming a tank with this weapon. In addition, the Assault class will also have access to the M2 Carbine.

Previously, developer Dice released the fifth chapter for Battlefield V, which added several new playing fields, all of which are also set in the Pacific Ocean: The Battle of Iwo Jima, a playing field called Pacific Storm, and Wake Island.
