At least 44 percent of Windows Phone users in the Benelux can update to Windows 10 mobile or have already done so. That percentage is probably much higher. This is evident from figures from advertising company AdDuplex.

Of the most popular five devices in the Benelux, according to the AdDuplex measurement on March 18, only the Lumia 630 cannot update to Windows 10 mobile. The percentage that can perform an update is a minimum of 44 percent and a maximum of 76.2 percent, because the ad company names an “other” category of 32.2 percent. This includes both devices that can receive an update and models that cannot. AdDuplex does not specifically specify how many devices can perform an update for the Benelux.

When Microsoft announced last week that the update was released, a number of devices were missing from the company’s list. The Lumia 1320, 1020, 920, 925, 630 and 520 were missing, among others. These are mostly older devices. Microsoft claims that it has received so many complaints about various devices in the test versions of Windows 10 mobile that it has decided not to push the update for those devices. Users can still access the current version of Windows 10 mobile via the Windows Insider app, but the Redmond company will no longer make new builds for those models.

According to AdDuplex, 50.4 percent of devices worldwide will be able to receive an update, while 49.6 percent cannot. About 15 percent of the devices that can do an update already did so on the day of release.

In the Benelux, the Lumia 640 is the most popular device, followed by the 930 and 630. According to the advertising company, users in the low countries have a preference for larger screens and more expensive models compared to larger European countries. Lumia’s 6xx series are the most common in the list. AdDuplex collects statistics through ads built in by app developers.
