ASUS has officially released its GPU Tweak III software after a one-year beta. The third version of GPU Tweak includes a new design with a revamped interface, along with new features such as the ability to associate profiles with games and additional graphics.

With the new interface, settings are no longer split between simple and more advanced options. Instead, when launching GPU Tweak III, users are immediately given “the most important” tuning and fan settings. On the left side of the software are also buttons for faster navigation to other screens, such as settings and graphs.

The biggest change revolves around the voltage-frequency tuner. ASUS says the new tuner is more intuitive, using the wasd and arrow keys of a keyboard. The new tuner also has a toolbar, in addition to functions such as multi-point movement, curve rotation and linear alignment. Users can also lock the voltage and frequency of the GPU to test the stability of the GPU. The tuner can store various curves, allowing users to fall back on an old curve should the need arise.

Before developing the updated GPU software, ASUS said it had a lot of contact with users to see what they wanted in the new software. For example, users requested features that ASUS already wanted to implement, such as fps and frametime graphs. One feature that ASUS developed specifically because many users requested it is a log viewer. This allows users to see what the influence of adjustments to the GPU was based on old graphs.

GPU Tweak III also contains new fan settings that allow the fans of the PC and GPU to respond more quickly to temperature changes. The new GPU software also has Profile Connect, an option in which different GPU profiles are linked to games or software. For example, a more aggressive profile can be used for games, with the fans spinning faster, and for office software a quieter profile with quieter fans.

ASUS GPU Tweak III is now available and works with both Nvidia and AMD GPUs. GPU Tweak III does not require an ASUS video card.
