ASUS has started selling mini PCs in the NUC product line. In July, that manufacturer took over this series from Intel, which had set up the NUC line in 2013. Currently, ASUS only offers PCs based on the thirteenth generation Intel Core processors.

On X, the former Twitter, let ASUS know that NUC is now officially part of the company’s product lineup and that the products in that series are now available on the ASUS site. The thirteenth generation NUCs that are now offered were already sold by Intel in the past. However, now ASUS is responsible for the production and distribution of these mini PCs.

The latter has not yet developed any new NUC designs. The NUC 13 Pro systems, which were originally released by Intel between March and June, are therefore still the latest iterations for the time being. It is no longer possible to purchase systems in this series via the Intel site, although the manufacturer still offers support for already purchased NUC products.

For now, ASUS is the sole distributor of the NUC line. However, the company has entered into a non-exclusive license with Intel for the production and sale of the mini PCs. This means that in the future other parties may also be allowed to produce their own products with the NUC brand name.

The NUC product line was founded in 2013 by Intel, but that company announced in July that it would discontinue the series. A reason for this has not been disclosed. ASUS then entered into an agreement with Intel to continue the product line. In addition to the thirteenth generation, the company may also produce and sell the tenth through twelfth generation NUC mini PCs under the agreement. It is unclear whether ASUS will still offer such older systems in the future.
