ASUS expects the Radeon RX 6800 and RX 6800 XT to sell out quickly upon release. A representative of the company reports this on a Swedish forum. ASUS states that, according to the company, the video cards will be sold out ‘within minutes’.

The ASUS representative reports on the Swedish SweClockers forum that the release on November 18 is expected to be ‘fairly limited’, VideoCardz also writes. In addition, the Radeon RX 6800 would be more available than the XT model, but due to the high demand, the RX 6800 video cards will also be sold out quickly. “As with almost all video cards at the moment, we expect everything to be used up within minutes.” The message appears to have since been deleted.

Furthermore, the representative reports that the modified RX 6800 video cards are expected one to two weeks after release. This meant that only reference cards would be sold on 18 November. At the time of writing, few manufacturers have officially announced their custom Radeon RX 6000 video cards.

VideoCardz writes that according to sources, the review embargo of RX 6000 custom graphics cards will expire on November 25, although this has not yet been officially confirmed. ASUS reports that it does not know what the stock of custom RX 6800 cards will be, but demand is likely to remain strong.

AMD showed its current Radeon RX 6000 line-up at the end of October. The RX 6800 XT and RX 6800 will hit the market on November 18. The more expensive RX 6900 XT will follow on December 8. AMD previously sent a letter to several stores, asking retailers to sell a maximum of one RX 6000 video card per customer, among other things. In this way, the company hopes to prevent sales to bots and so-called scalpers.
