AOC releases 144Hz monitor with AMD FreeSync for 249 euros

AOC releases a gamer-oriented 24.5″ monitor with thin bezels that has a maximum refresh rate of 144Hz. The G2590FX has a TN panel and supports AMD’s FreeSync. The screen costs 249 euros.

The G2590FX has a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels and has a screen diagonal of 24.5″. According to AOC, the screen has a response speed of 1ms and the maximum brightness is 400cd/m². The horizontal viewing angle is 170 degrees; the vertical viewing angle does not come beyond 160 degrees.

The screen supports FreeSync, although it is not clear between which refresh rates the frame rate of the monitor is synchronized with the images that are rendered by the GPU. As far as connections are concerned, the G2590FX has a VGA port, displayport 1.2 and two HDMI 1.4 connections.

AOC’s new budget monitor for gamers is now available for a price of 249 euros. The G2590FX is broadly comparable to the G2590PX released at the beginning of this year, although the latter has a height-adjustable foot. The screen of the G2590FX can be tilted.
