The Android version of Gmail will have a ‘Select All’ feature. This makes it possible to select up to fifty emails at the same time.

In the Android version, pressing and holding an email will make the ‘Select All’ button available, discovered 9to5Google. Despite the name, a maximum of fifty emails can be selected. These can then all be deleted, for example, or marked as read. According to the site, the function is rolled out on the server side per device and is therefore not directly connected to an app update. As a result, it may not yet be available for some users.

Such a feature has existed on the desktop version of Gmail for some time. When users press the square ‘Select’ button, all fifty messages on the current page are selected. It is then also possible to check the rest of the emails using the ‘Select all conversations in Inbox’ button. However, the latter is not yet possible on the Android version. Unlike the desktop version, the Android version has all emails on just one page.
