Android Auto gets improved media playback and speech recognition

The Auto variant of Android has received several improvements, including making it easier to play media. Browsing music has been simplified, and speech recognition has also been improved.

The innovations are listed in a post on the Google website. Part of the revamp is tweaking the interface, which should make it easier to play media such as songs and podcasts. This works with applications such as Google Play Music and Spotify.

The display of messages via chat applications such as Whatsapp has also been improved, although this only works when the car is stationary. In addition, MMS and RCS messages can now be displayed on the Android Auto interface.
