AMD gave a glimpse of the Radeon RX 6000 card and its performance at the end of its Zen 3 and Ryzen 5000X announcement on Thursday. Among other things, the company showed some basic benchmark results. AMD CEO Lisa Su had a small one more thing at the end of the announcement of Zen 3 and Ryzen 5000X with a preview of the Radeon RX 6000. AMD previously showed a render of the card with three fans, but Su now had an actual ‘big navi’ card in her hands. In addition, the company showed how Borderlands 3 ran in 4k with the settings set to badass at 60fps on a system with a Ryzen 5950X and Radeon RX 6000. Also the company showed statistics of how Call of Duty: Modern Warfare would run in Ultra at 4k at an average of 88fps, and Gears of Wars 5 on Ultra at 73fps. AMD didn’t provide further details on the benchmarks and system used, making it difficult to compare with say RTX 3080 results when running those games. Planet 3DNow! makes a quick attempt and uses test results from Eurogamer and Hexus, with regard to Borderlands 3 and Gears of War 5. Based on the tests of both sites Gears of War 5, the Radeon RX 6000 seems to have to lose a bit compared to the RTX 3080, but as said a direct comparison is still difficult to make. More information will follow on October 28, when AMD will hold an event around the RDNA2 architecture and the RX 6000.Update, 20:45: Planet 3DNow! has corrected figures published.
