Age of Mythology: The Extended Edition is getting an expansion called Tale of The Dragon. It is the first expansion since The Titans, which came out 12 years ago. The new content focuses on the Far East.

Co-developer Forgotten Empires announces the theme on its website. Development of the expansion is also handled by Skybox Labs. The original development studio, Ensemble Studios, no longer exists. The expansion is intended for the Extended Edition of the game, which came out in May of last year. It introduced Steamworks integration, widescreen support and improved graphics, among other things.

The expansion was also subtly teased at this year’s E3. When Tale of the Dragon gets a release, Skybox and Forgotten Empires are not known. However, the two parties have announced that they will be holding a Twitch stream of Tale of the Dragon on October 2. The same studios are also working on Age of Empires II HD: The African Kingdoms, which is due out this fall.
