Adobe appears to be phasing out its interface design program Adobe XD ahead of its planned acquisition of Figma. XD is no longer available for purchase separately, is no longer in the Creative Cloud interface and the program’s website is already offline.

Adobe promises to continue supporting the program for existing users in the coming years, Stackdiary writes based on posts by Adobe employees on the company’s own forum. The steps are notable because the takeover has not yet been completed and many takeovers of tech companies in recent years have been subject to critical scrutiny from authorities. Adobe announced the planned acquisition in September.

The section for UI/UX in Creative Cloud has completely disappeared and XD is no longer available for purchase as a separate application. However, it is still part of Creative Cloud for existing subscribers and users can continue to use the program. It is unclear whether new features will be added. Adobe XD has been around since 2016.
