Activision has announced the name of the next Call of Duty game via a teaser. Black Ops Cold War is set during the Cold War between the communist and capitalist world. That is the period between 1945 and 1991.

Activision will present the game on Wednesday, August 26. That is stated in a teaser trailer that the publisher has put on YouTube. That two-minute video is about Yuri Bezmenov, a Russian KGB spy who defected to the West in 1970. Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is inspired by real events, according to the video. The teaser does not contain gameplay or in-game footage; presumably they will be shown next week.

There have been rumors for months about the arrival of a Call of Duty game set during the cold war. Activision also gave many hints that pointed this out in recent weeks. According to rumors, the arrival of the new Black Ops game will also introduce a new playing field for the battleroyale part Call of Duty: Warzone. Cold War would also contain a zombie mode and single player campaign.
