Acer Introduces 11.6″ Chromebook With Tilting Screen

Acer will release four new Chromebooks this year, including one model with a tilting screen. It concerns two compact and two larger models. The laptops will be available from December.

The lineup consists of two larger models aimed at productivity, and two smaller models mainly intended for on-the-go. All four models are equipped with two USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports with type-c connector: one on each side. Both USB-C connectors can be used to charge the Chromebooks. Furthermore, all models have two USB 3.1 type A ports and a micro SD card reader. The Chromebooks are also all equipped with an HD webcam and they offer support for 802.11ac WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0.

The small Chromebook 311 and Chromebook 311 Spin both have an IPS screen of 11.6″, while the Spin has a touchscreen that can be tilted 360 degrees. Both screens have an unknown HD resolution. The 311 and 311 Spin, like the larger models, both come with an Intel Celeron N4100 or N4000 CPU.The battery life according to Acer is up to ten hours, based on Google’s ‘power_LoadTest’.The price of the Acer Chromebook 311 Spin starts at 349 euros, while the regular 311 is available from 249 euros.

The Acer Chromebook 315 is the largest model, with an IPS screen of 15.6″. The Acer Chromebook 314 is slightly smaller, with an IPS screen of 14″. The resolution of both models is a maximum of 1920×1080 pixels. These laptops can be equipped with an Intel Celeron N4000 CPU with two cores or the N4100 processor with four cores. In addition, the 315 can be equipped with an Intel Pentium Silver N5000 soc with four cores. Furthermore, both models contain up to 128GB of emmc storage and up to 8GB of dual-channel SDRAM. The battery life is up to 12.5 hours, according to Acer. This is also based on the Google LoadTest. The Chromebook 315 and 314 are both available from 299 euros.
