Pictures have surfaced of what would be Lenovo’s 2017 Moto X smartphone. The photos show a phone with a metal design and a dual camera. The specs are in line with midrange models from Lenovo.

Chinese Jerry Yin, who last year posted photos of the Moto Z Play, among others, posted the photos on the Chinese social network Weibo. Although he refers to the device as Moto X 2017, it is also possible that the phone will eventually get a different name. In the market for midrange smartphones, Lenovo also carries the name Moto M in China.

The alleged 2017 Moto X has a dual camera on the back, with two apparently identical lenses. Underneath is a dual LED flash. On the front is an oval-shaped fingerprint scanner. The shape corresponds to that of the already announced Moto G5 and G5 Plus.

Various specifications can be derived from the photos. The phone runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625, a soc that Lenovo previously used in the Moto Z Play, Moto G5 Plus and Lenovo P2. This includes 3GB of memory, while the storage capacity, according to the sticker on the housing, would be 32GB.

If the fingerprint scanner is the same size as on the Moto G5, the device is also about the same width. This makes it look like it will be a phone with a screen of around 5″ or 5.2″. Lenovo has not yet announced the phone.
