Denon recalls incendiary batteries for HEOS 1 wireless speakers

Denon has started a replacement program for lithium-ion batteries sold as accessories for the Heos 1 speakers. These are batteries that were part of the Heos 1 GoPack and may pose a risk of fire.

Denon has found that some Heos 1 GoPack batteries can overheat, resulting in a fire hazard. These are batteries with serial numbers starting with a 5 and models with serial numbers 601G913517 to 601G914004.

On a special site, Denon provides more information about the recall. Customers with a relevant battery can send it to Denon and receive a replacement GoPack. In addition to an additional battery, the Heos 1 GoPack consists of a Bluetooth adapter and parts to make the Heos 1 speaker splash-proof. This should make the wireless speaker more suitable for use on the go.
