Adding an appointment to your calendar couldn’t be easier thanks to iOS 26
Your iPhone received an update this fall with all sorts of new features. Thanks to iOS 26 , you can now set an appointment in the Calendar app simply by taking a screenshot!
Do you have an iPhone 15 Pro or later? And are you running iOS 26.1? Then you have Apple Intelligence on your phone. It’s Apple’s own version of AI, and it allows you to do all sorts of fun and, above all, practical things. For example, the AI can understand and process information contained in images.
So, if you take a screenshot of an upcoming event, you can immediately add it to your calendar . It doesn’t matter where you see the date: in an email, on social media, or on a website. Here’s how it works:
Make an appointment via a screenshot
Take a screenshot
You’ve come across a date you want to add to your calendar. It’s a piece of cake: start by taking a screenshot . A “Add to Calendar” button will appear below your screenshot. Tap it.
Add to Agenda
A panel will appear with the appointment. If you want to change anything, tap “Edit” on the left. If everything is correct, tap “Create Event” on the right. A green notification will appear briefly indicating the appointment has been added to your Calendar. Tap the X in the top left to immediately discard the screenshot—you don’t need it anymore.
Just checking
It’s not necessary, but you can certainly check if everything is correct. Open the Calendar app and there you have it: the appointment you just screenshotted.
No full-screen screenshot?
If a thumbnail appears instead of a full-screen screenshot in step 1, tap the thumbnail to enlarge it. You may have previously disabled full-screen screenshots via Settings > General > Screenshots > Full-screen Previews.
