As you may have read in the news, Microsoft has made the second beta version of Vista available to the general public. Windows Vista beta 2 is for both x86 systems released as in x64 edition. The use of this second beta does require a product key, which is available from this page can be obtained from if you have a Windows Live account. The received product key can then be used to provide up to ten computers with a Vista installation. It is not yet clear when Windows Vista will actually be released. The operating system was originally planned to be in stores by the end of December 2006, but Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer said Vista will be ready early next year and rolled out in the first quarter of that year.
