The Chinese smartphone manufacturer Nubia has indicated that it will release a device that can be charged with 80W. This would charge the device faster than most other smartphones.

Ni Fei, co-founder of Nubia, posted a photo on the Chinese social medium Weibo of a smartphone being charged with about 80W. It also appears that charging is via the USB Power Delivery specification, but a spokesperson for the organization behind this charging specification tells Android Police that such charging speeds are not supported at all. It is unclear whether Nubia has made any changes to the specification.

A charging speed of 80W is considerably more than most smartphones can handle. Oppo, for example, has a 65W fast charging technology. Incidentally, Samsung has announced a technology to be able to charge with 100W via usb c.

Nothing has been announced about the specifications of the Nubia smartphone, but Fei previously posted details on Weibo of the Red Magic 5G, which has 5G support. That smartphone also has a screen with a refresh rate of 144Hz. Nubia may announce the smartphone during the upcoming Mobile World Congress, which will start later this month.
