2K Games has announced a closed alpha test for Evolve. A limited number of PlayStation 4 and PC gamers will be able to play the game from October 31 to November 2. Xbox One owners can get access to the alpha version a day early.

Xbox One users can currently sign up for the test version via the site, the developers have announced. They get a head start of 24 hours and can therefore already play from 30 October. So PS4 and PC players will have to wait an extra day, but all platforms will have the same deadline of November 2nd. It is specifically stated by the publisher that there is room for a limited number of players.

People who have ordered the game from GameStop, Amazon, Best Buy, Target or Walmart are guaranteed access to the alpha test, according to 2K Games. An Xbox Live Gold subscription or a PlayStation Plus membership is required. 2K games says it will distribute thousands of access codes through various media in the coming period and the company will continue to do so until the alpha test.

Evolve can also be played this weekend at Firstlook 2014, a game fair where visitors can play several new games. The games often have yet to appear in stores and the same applies to Evolve, which will be released in February 2015.
