Xiaomi will come with a device with high-end specifications within a few weeks

Xiaomi will present a new device in January that it refers to as an important device. It is unclear what kind of device it is exactly. Xiaomi presented its Mi 4 smartphone in the summer and so it would be soon if a successor comes now.

Xiaomi has the pre-announcement on both on Twitter as posted on Facebook. The word ‘device’ is used consistently in the messages. It is plausible that it concerns a smartphone, but that is not certain. Xiaomi itself speaks about their new “flagship” and that they want to produce high-quality products in 2015.

It has also been announced that during the latest investment round, 1.1 billion dollars have been raised, or approximately 900 million euros. Xiaomi is therefore valued at approximately $45 billion. Converted, this concerns an amount of 36.8 billion euros.

Where the Chinese company only sold smartphones in the past, the range has now become a lot wider. Xiaomi has also made a tablet, router, set-top box, TV, game controller, smart bracelet and air freshener. There are also plans to expand to more countries. For example, the electronics giant wants to add countries such as Brazil, Mexico, Russia, Thailand and Turkey as sales markets in 2015.
