Bicycle manufacturer VanMoof announces two new e-bikes that will be available later this year. The S5 and A5 have a power of 250W and a range of 55km to 150km. The bikes are already on sale and are expected to be delivered later this year.

The S5 is the e-bike model with the straight bar, where the A5 has a lower entry. Depending on the power delivered, the S5 has a range between 60km and 150km. The range of the A5 is slightly lower and is between 55km and 140km. The difference has to do with the battery capacity of the bikes of 487Wh and 463Wh respectively.

Furthermore, the two e-bikes are largely the same and have many functions that the previous models from VanMoof already had. For example, the S5 and A5 are equipped with a special lock that can be activated remotely. This so-called Kick Lock unlocks automatically when the owner comes close.

New to the S5 and A5 is the ability to attach your phone to the handlebars. The phone can be charged while driving via a USB-C port. There are also LED rings built into the handlebars, which can display the speed and battery level.

The two electric bicycles both have a suggested retail price of 2498 euros. They are for sale at VanMoof immediately, but delivery will not start until July 2022.
