Twitch is working on a feature to completely ban viewers from livestream

Twitch will introduce the ability for streamers to completely ban individual viewers from their livestream with an upcoming update in September. For now, viewers can only be banned from the chat system, but can still watch the stream.

Streamers can therefore completely exclude viewers from their stream, which can be enabled or disabled with a setting. When the setting is enabled and a streamer blocks or bans an account, the stream for that viewer will immediately stop and they will not be able to return to the stream.

A banned or blocked viewer can still view archive material. In addition, a user can simply log out to still view the stream; it is not an IP ban, but a blocking of a specific account. It is not possible to use Twitch’s chat function without an account. In a live stream the Amazon subsidiary says that banning IP addresses causes some complications, but it is not excluded that such a measure could be made possible in the long run.
