German Tuxedo Computers has announced a new Linux laptop. The InfinityBook S 15 features an Intel Tiger Lake-U CPU with integrated Xe GPU and support for Wi-Fi 6.
Tuxedo equips the InfinityBook S 15 with an IPS panel with a screen diagonal of 15.6″ and a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels. According to Tuxedo, the display can show 100 percent of the sRGB color space and achieves a maximum brightness of 300cd/m². laptop comes with an Intel Core i5-1135G7 or Core i7-1165G7, which have an integrated Xe GPU with 80 and 96 execution units respectively.
The laptop comes standard with 8GB DDR4-3200 memory, but this can be increased from the factory to a maximum of 64GB. The InfinityBook S 15 also offers space for two M.2 SSDs. Users can choose from different SSDs from Samsung. The laptop can also be delivered without storage.
In terms of connections, the laptop has a USB 2.0 and USB 3.2 Gen 2 type-A connection, a USB-C 3.2 Gen 2 connector and an HDMI 2.0b port. Tuxedo also mentions a USB 4.0 type-C connection, which also functions as a Thunderbolt 4 port. The laptop also gets an RJ45 connection for 1Gbit/s Ethernet, a Micro-SD card reader and a 3.5mm combo jack for audio and a microphone. The 73Wh battery can be charged via a DC connection with a supplied 65W charger. The laptop can also be charged via the USB 4.0 connector.
The Infinitybook S 15 also comes standard with an Intel AX200 adapter with Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.2. The laptop can be supplied with various Linux distributions. Users can choose from Tuxedo OS or Ubuntu 20.04 LTS, or OpenSUSE with different desktop environments. Optionally, the installations can be encrypted and Tuxedo can also deliver Windows 10 as a VirtualBox or full installation.
A base model with 8GB of memory and a 250GB SSD costs 937 euros. Users can also omit the SSDs and Intel AX200 adapter. This lowers the price of this basic configuration to 870 euros. The laptop cannot be delivered without DDR4 memory.
