Toshiba to release 14″ laptop with flip screen at the end of this year
In addition to a 12.5″ version, Toshiba is also launching a 14″ model in the Radius line of convertibles with a folding screen in the Benelux. With the Radius 14, the company is targeting mainstream users. The screen resolution is 1366×768 pixels.
Toshiba provides the Satellite Radius 14 not only with Intel processors of the Skylake generation, but also promises to come with models with AMD A8 APUs. The GPU is then optionally the HD Graphics 520 or the AMD Radeon R5. The Radius gets a maximum of 16GB DDR3L and as far as storage capacity is concerned, there is up to an m2 SSD of 256GB or a HDD with a capacity of up to 2TB.
The laptop also has two USB 3.0 ports and a USB 2.0 interface, HDMI and a 2-in-1 memory card reader. The convertible is 21mm thick, weighs 1.9kg and runs Windows 10. As far as connectivity is concerned, there will be configurations with WiFi-ac and cheaper models with WiFi-n. Prices are not yet known, but availability will start in the fourth quarter of this year. Based on the specifications, it can be said that the models will be cheaper than the version announced on Wednesday with a 12.5 “screen with 4k resolution.
