Telltale Games and Mojang have announced a new version of Minecraft called Minecraft: Story Mode. According to the developers, the new title in the Minecraft world should have a narrative character and will be released in parts.
Minecraft: Story Mode will be a standalone game and should be released in 2015 for all known consoles, Android, iOS, OS X and PC. Telltale Games will put a narrative element into the game, but the characteristics of the Minecraft world will be preserved, Mojang promises.
Just like titles like The Wolf Among Us and The Walking Dead, there will always be parts of Minecraft: Story. The game follows the story of an unspecified character within the Minecraft world, where the gamer determines the further course of the game by making choices. Finally, Mojang, which was acquired by Microsoft in September for almost 2 billion euros, emphasizes that the upcoming game should not be seen as the “official story” behind the Minecraft world.
