Sony is announcing an additional 11 games coming with the release of PS VR2 on February 22. These include a variety of games, including action, horror, strategy and arcade games that take advantage of the new PS VR2 features in various ways.
For example, some of the already announced games take advantage of PS VR2’s new eye-tracking feature. For example, in the roller coaster horror game The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR, there are monsters that only move when the player blinks. In the light-hearted Tentacular, the player takes on the role of a huge tentacled creature, where the player can interact with islanders with eye contact. In the fun alien game Cosmonious High, players can see their alien avatar blink in the mirror as they do so.
The PS VR2 Sense controllers also give developers more options for integrating haptic feedback into games. For example, in the PSVR port of After The Fall, players should feel better weapon handling and the adaptive triggers are used to simulate the resistance of the trigger of a firearm. This function is also included in the already mentioned The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR. In the music shooter Pistol Whip VR, thanks to the unique triggers, the player feels whether a weapon magazine is full or empty based on the resistance of the trigger. In the magic and fighting game Zenith: The Last City, the adaptive triggers have to reflect the energy charge of weapons.
All in all, Sony announces eleven games for PS VR2 that should be released simultaneously with the release of the headset. Most of the games below will also be available via pre-order starting November 15th. Previously, several AAA games for PS VR2 announced, including Horizon Call of the Mountain, Star Wars: Tales from the Galaxy’s Edge, and Resident Evil Village. The following games are now added:
- The Dark Pictures: Switchback VR
- Crossfire: Sierra Squad
