Download Wine 0.9.4
In order to be able to run Windows programs on operating systems other than Windows, people started developing the Wine program years ago and it now runs on Linux and FreeBSD. The developers have released yet another version of their own implementation of Microsoft’s Win32 Application Programming Interfaces (API). The list of changes from version 0.9.4 looks like this:
This is release 0.9.4 of Wine, a free implementation of Windows on Unix. What’s new in this release:
- Improvements to the IDL compiler.
- Some infrastructure work for loadable driver support.
- The usual assortment of Direct3D improvements.
- IME support in the edit control.
- Better support for AVI animations.
- Debugging support improvements.
- Relay traces now work on NX platforms.
- Lots of bug fixes.
Patches should be submitted to “[email protected]”. Please don’t forget to include a ChangeLog entry. If you submitted a patch, please check to make sure it has been included in the new release.
Wine is available thanks to the work of many people. See the file AUTHORS in the distribution for the complete list.
