Weather Watcher 5.6 beta 3 has recently become available on the Singer Creations website. This program resides in the system tray and displays current and forecast weather conditions for a large number of cities on Earth. In addition, it is also possible to view various weather and satellite maps. The changelog for this version looks like this:

The changes are as follows:

• Fixed “Runtime Error 5” message that was popping up when clicking on the system tray icon balloon
• Removed “… SPECIAL WEATHER STATEMENT…” line from severe weather alerts
• Added system tray icon left-single-click dropdown in “Tray Icon” Options
• Added option to switch to previous active city on system tray icon left single/double click
• Fixed 100% CPU usage when retrieving the weather information
• Removed weather/wallpaper auto update checkboxes — these options can be disabled by selecting the first item in those dropdown boxes
• Fixed the “Help” –> “Weather Watcher Manual” link on the system tray icon menu
• “Load when Windows starts” option in “General” tab of the Weather Watcher Options now saves correctly
• Added option to show both the temperature and current condition icons in the system tray at the same time
• Fixed severe weather alerts blurb that was displaying “N/A” in the system tray icon balloon
• Severe alert filter now filters alerts properly
• Map stretch option now remembers setting when installing new versions of Weather Watcher
• Maps load from the Map History will now remember their size/position, if that option is enabled
• Current Conditions is automatically displayed if a severe alert is showing when the weather is updated
• Hourly Forecast now converts the day correctly when “. ” exists in the Windows system short date
• “Pause 10 seconds before retrieving forecasts…” option in “General” Options changed to 30 seconds
