Download VoIPerized 1.2
VoIPerized has just been updated to version 1.2. As the name suggests, this is a Voice over IP (VoIP) program, which allows conversations with other computer users using this software. It uses the open-source Speex audio codec, which means that the sound quality is higher than a regular phone call. Furthermore, the latency and processor usage are very low, and the bitrate can be adjusted as desired. Since a new audio packet format is used in this release, the program is unfortunately no longer compatible with previous versions. The changelog further shows the following changes:
Version 1.2:
- Updated Speex Codec to version 1.1.6, this gives better denoising.
- Adaptive Jitter Buffer, this realizes the smallest latency while maintaining the best quality possible.
- When trying to exit while still connected the program asks for confirmation.
- When you accept an incoming call the IP of the remote side is displayed in the IP-field.
- UPnP (Universal Plug & Play) support. VoIPerized automatically does the needed port
- forwarding (WinXP & UPnP router required).
- Fixed a bug which could potentially cause VoIPerized to crash when making more than one call.
Note: Due to an altered audio packet format version 1.2 is not backwards compatible.[break]
