Software Update: TinyCAD 2.00.01

TinyCAD enables the tweaker to create a circuit diagram in Windows according to American standard. The latest version of the software is numbered 2.00.01 and follows the previously released 2.00.00 release. Version 2.00.01 is from this mirror server download and comes with the following changes since the 2.00.00 release:

2.00.01 – Warning to Win98 users!

The previous version of the installer killed Win98!! Sorry about that. I have just uploaded a new version of TinyCAD with an installer that should be kinder to the older generation. Please let me know if you have any problems with this new installer!

Version 2.00.00 released

New Installer
There has much complaining about the size of the TinyCAD installer! I have switched to using the open-source “NSIS” installer, instead of InstallShield. This makes the download much smaller. It also makes the installer more intelligent. The MDAC components, will only be downloaded if required. If you have had a previous version of TinyCAD on your machine, this will most likely mean that you will only require the relatively small 1.5Mb download. Like all things new, this might not work for everybody – so please let me know if you have a problem with it!

New features:

• Each single drawing file can now be made up of multiple sheets (just like Excel).
• Screen re-drawing has been improved to reduce flicker
• Save as a black & white bitmap and select the scaling factor
• Autosave every “n” minutes

New library editing features:

• Library Symbols can now have multiple names
• Export and import single library symbols or the entire library into an XML file
• Right click on a symbol in the thumbnail view to get direct access to the symbol’s properties
• Multi-sheet tabs make multiple part per package symbols easier to draw
