Software Update: TechPowerUp Radeon Bios Editor 1.22

Spread the love

Not too long ago, version 1.22 of Radeon Bios Editor appeared on the TechPowerUp forum. This program is for ATI video cards what NiBiTor is for Nvidia video cards: the program makes it possible to adjust the bios of the video card. In this way it is possible, for example, to permanently write overclocking settings to the card. The advantage of this is that the correct settings are immediately active when the computer is switched on, so that they are independent of the operating system and separate overclocking programs. Below is what has changed in this release:

Changes in version 1.22

  • Added clock tuning wizard.
  • Changed fan controller bug workaround settings’ description to point out what it does a little better.
  • Improved programs startup routine.
  • Fixed “GetClockPos reported 0” error that came up on loading several 4xx0-BIOSes.
  • Added preliminary support for Radeon 5870. Note that I’m still not sure about 5850’s DeviceID and that signature saving and loading will most likely not work properly on 5xx0s with this version. Furthermore, VT1165 programming is not functioning yet.
