Software update: Startup Delayer 3.0 build 357

Spread the love

R2 Studios has released a new version of Startup Delayer. This program can customize the Windows startup process so that the user can access the desktop faster. One of the reasons Windows is slow to start is that many programs and processes start at the same time. Some of these can be turned on a little later, such as e-mail programs and quick launchers for, for example, OpenOffice and Adobe Reader. With Startup Delayer it is possible to specify the order of the programs to be started and to assign them a waiting time. This allows faster access to the desktop, while less important programs are loaded in the background a little later. The changelog for this release looks like this:

What’s new in Startup Delayer 3.0 build 357

  • Added prompt to install .net 3.5 if System.ServiceModel couldn’t be found
  • Added Localization Version information to the About screen
  • Modified the Backup Location and Startup Profiles location to be read only to ensure no invalid inputs can be entered
  • Added test for missing Administrator rights when installing/uninstalling and prompt user
  • Fixed the XmlUpgrader to allow paths with an extra on the end
  • Added additional prompts and fallbacks if Dot net 3.5 is not installed or appears corrupt
  • Added the ability to drag and drop manual items in between others. When dropping Startup Delayer will set a value half way between the two dropped values
  • Tidied up the Tab order in the Edit window
