Download Skype for Linux 1.3.0.53

Yesterday, after a long series of betas, a stable version of Skype for Linux was finally released. With Skype it is possible to call other users via Voice-over-IP, or to send messages back and forth via instant messaging. It is also possible to call fixed and mobile telephone numbers at a certain rate. Version 1.3.0.53 is available for several Linux distributions and the download is around 10.5 MB for all versions. Compared to the beta of a few days ago, no new features have been added, but the following bugs have been fixed:

Bugs fixed in Skype for Linux 1.3.0.53:

• Call Tab: Call participant display name is distorted/overlapped.
• Disable toolbar user items if the user has been deselected via the Escape key.
• Display an error in the Options dialog if no sound devices are detected.
• Display correct input/output device in technical info tooltip.
• Display the randomly chosen port instead of 0 in the Advanced options.
• Don’t play incoming chat sound for /alertsoff windows.
• Double-clicking call history items whilst offline should not attempt to call.
• Emoticons not displayed sometimes (adjacent to word) or displayed incorrectly (in the middle of url).
• Fix connecting sound (should not loop).
• Fix title bar for Hello! from skypename.
• Multi Chat: “Add more people to this chat” is missing for languages ​​with hieroglyphic scripts.
• Offer ALSA/OSS options with number of devices available shown.
• Options dialog was shrinking to hide an option in Advanced, moved to Privacy.
• Options layout is too big – can’t see option’s save and cancel buttons in 1024×768 resolution.
• Promote Add to Contacts: Yes share my contact details doesn’t open Auth request.
• Promote Add to Contacts: remove avatar and make window smaller.
• Reset audio device if device no longer exists on startup / options dialog.
• Show *.png/*.PNG files in the profile avatar dialog.
• Some languages ​​have an “|” in the “Add Contact” button.
• Tab ordering in Options – Sound Devices dialog.
