Software update: Opera 8.00 beta 1

On the FTP server, some users of the Opera forum have discovered the first beta version of the 8.00 family. This test release is only available for download as a standard version. The Opera web browser supports tabbed browsing, a popup blocker and also consists of an e-mail program with an extensive spam filter. It’s not exactly clear where this version comes from, as Opera 7.6 is still in development and only a Windows version can be found.
