Spread the love

Development of NewsLeecher 4.0 is progressing steadily and beta release 13 was released on Thursday. With this program it is possible to download files from newsgroups in a simple way. NewsLeecher has support for nzb files, has a so-called super search, and can automatically check downloaded files for integrity and completeness and then extract them independently. New in this release is the option to automatically make a backup at regular intervals. The full changelog for this release looks like this:

New features:

  • Implemented an automatic backup system. By default, the backup system is enabled and set to backup NewsLeecher every 15 minutes. The backup system can be switched on / off at: Settings -> Adv. Nerdy Tweaks -> Backup Enabled And the backup interval can be changed at: Settings -> Adv. Nerdy Tweaks -> Backup Interval in Minutes
  • The newly implemented backup system can be manually triggered from Menu -> Tools -> Trigger Backup

Improved feature:

  • Various internal and visual changes here and there.

Fixed bug:

  • Fixed a problem introduced in a previous beta, where NewsLeecher would sometimes pause the transfer queue when anti-virus software temporarily locked the files that NewsLeecher was downloading.
