If you are not a command-line wizard but would still like to fire some queries on a MySQL server, you can visit the MySQL Control Center. MySQLCC acts as a GUI for your database and makes using it a lot easier; building queries is done in a helpful editor and results are presented in a clear tabular form. Moreover, no one is left out: the program is completely multi-platform. The new release, 0.9.3, contains a number of improvements:

  • Updated the Chinese translations (thanks to Deng Jie)
  • Fixed a problem under Red Hat 9
  • Added ‘Unlimited’ Max Join Size option (thanks to Adam Hooper)
  • The Query Window now has the option to automatically create a new Query Window on by default.
  • The Query Window now has the option to automatically create a new tab on by default.
  • In the “Register Server” Dialog, the “Databases” tab now displays the list of databases if SHOW databases succeeds.
  • Fixed a critical bug with Key Bindings in the Query Editor
  • Fixed a bug which didn’t start MySQLCC when certain settings where specified in the my.ini or my.cnf file.
  • Added Italian translation (thanks to Andrea Decorte)
  • Fixed a bug where MySQLCC frequently crashed under RedHat 9
  • Fixed the ERROR 1104 when opening a table
  • Fixed a bug where Query results weren’t being saved correctly
  • Fixed a bug which prevented the deletion of Field names when reserved words where used.
  • Fixed a problem when executing queries
  • Added several internal enhancements and code optimizations
  • Fixed a bug which crashed MySQLCC under Win2K when it was minimized and maximized from the task bar.
  • Fixed a couple of spelling mistakes
  • Added MacOSX compatibility (thanks to Peter O’Gorman)
  • ÆAdded a “Never connect to this server on startup” option to the create/edit server window.
  • Fixed a couple of memory leaks under Win98 which crashed the application under certain circumstances.
  • Fixed a bug which didn’t maintain sorted columns when the server admin was refreshed.
  • Fixed a bug which crashed MySQLCC when one attempted to execute a query to a server where the connection had been previously lost.
  • Fixed a bug which displayed MySQLCC minimized under some circumstances in Linux systems.
  • Updated Spanish translation file
  • Added Polish Translation (thanks to Radoslaw Zawartko)
  • Many other fixes and enhancements.
